Participante del “WIPO-WTO Colloquium for Teachers of Intellectual Property 2018” (also in English...)

Tuve el honor de ser elegida como participante en el 15 Colloquium para Profesores de Propiedad Intelectual, que se viene realizando en Ginebra, Suiza, organizado por la OMPI – Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual – y por la OMC – Organización Mundial del Comercio -, durante dos semanas en el mes de junio (18 al 29 de junio del 2018).

Fuimos algo más de 25 participantes de distintos países del mundo, de los llamados países “en desarrollo”, situaciones distintas en cuanto a la difusión de la Propiedad Intelectual pero con muchas características comunes como países.

El nivel académico del programa fue excelente. Destaco especialmente el tratamiento del tema Propiedad Intelectual y Salud Pública, así como el bloque sobre recursos genéticos y variedades de plantas, pero realmente en cada uno de los temas pude aprender algo.

Todos los asistentes hablamos sobre algún tema. Fue muy interesante escuchar a los colegas de países que tienen desarrollos en materia de Indicaciones Geográficas, así como Protección del Folklore.

La experiencia de concurrir una semana al edificio de la OMPI y la otra semana al edificio de la OMC también fue sensacional. Es primer nivel del mundo, sin dudas. Y eso también es buena experiencia para nosotros. Los organizadores y su staff impecables en su rol, mucho más todavía de lo que uno espera que serán.

Excelente todo. Estoy sumamente agradecida por la oportunidad, sin cuya beca total no hubiera podido participar.

Además de todo ese conocimiento, traje mil ideas y experiencias para aplicar, además de mi compromiso renovado tanto con la docencia de la Propiedad Intelectual, como con la aplicación de este sector de Derecho para el desarrollo del Uruguay.

Palabras especiales merece la referencia a mis colegas participantes. Fue espectacular conocerlos, parte muy importante de que la experiencia haya resultado exitosa. Los países, además de Uruguay: Australia, Bangladesh, Belarús, Brasil, Colombia, Fiji, China Popular, Indonesia, India, Irán, Kenia, Kyrgistán, Malasia, Moldavia, Nigeria, Pakistán, Paraguay, Polonia, Slovenia, South Africa, Trinidad y Tobago, Turquía, Uganda, Ucrania, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Venezuela, Viet Nam, Zambia. No los olvidaré. Ojalá permanezcamos en contacto y la Propiedad Intelectual o la vida, nos permitan cruzarnos nuevamente.

Por más y mejor Propiedad Intelectual para el Uruguay... seguiremos trabajando!

Participant of the "WIPO-WTO Colloquium for Teachers of Intellectual Property 2018"


I had the honor of being elected as a participant in the 15th Colloquium for Intellectual Property Teachers, which is being held in Geneva, Switzerland, organized by the WIPO - World Intellectual Property Organization - and by the WTO - World Trade Organization -, for two weeks in the month of June (June 18 to 29, 2018).

We were over 25 participants from different countries of the world, from the so-called "developing" countries, different situations in terms of the dissemination of Intellectual Property but with many common characteristics as countries. The academic level of the program was excellent. I especially emphasize themes as “Intellectual Property and Public Health”, as well as the block on genetic resources and plants varieties, but really in each one of the subjects I could learn something.

All participants talk about a topic, previously prepared. It was very interesting to listen to colleagues from other countries, specially about their developments in the field of Geographical Indications, as well as Protection of Folklore and Traditional Knowledge.

The experience of attending the WIPO building for a week and the other week at the WTO building was also sensational. It is the first level of the world, without doubts. And that is also good experience for us. The organizers and their staff impeccable in their role, more tahn one expects them to be.

Excellent everything. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity, without whose full scholarship I would not have been able to participate.

In addition to all that knowledge, I brought a thousand ideas and experiences to apply, in addition to my renewed commitment both with the teaching of Intellectual Property, and with the application of this sector of Law for the development of Uruguay.

Special words deserves the reference to my colleagues participants. It was spectacular to meet them, a very important part of the experience having been successful. Countries, in addition to Uruguay: Australia, Bangladesh, Belarús, Brazil, Colombia, People's Republic of China, Fiji, Indonesia, India, Iran, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Moldova, Nigeria, Pakistan, Paraguay, Poland, Slovenia, Turkish, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Venezuela, Viet Nam, Zambia. I will not forget you guys. I hope we stay in touch and Intellectual Property or life, allow us to cross again.
