LeBron James Shuts Down Attempted Trademark On 'King James'

"King James", hay uno solo... al menos en USA.

"However, the Lakers superstar and 2020 NBA champ learned about the trademark attempt on Nov. 18, and after some legal wrangling, Carnival withdrew its application by Nov. 26.

Carnival’s chairman, Micky Arison, also happens to be the owner of the Miami Heat, a team James won three championships with — and also the team the Lakers beat to win the 2020 NBA Championships."

La solicitud de marca que había sido presentada por una persona distinta a LeBron James fue retirada, no se trata de una sentencia favorable. Pero el tema queda bien pendiente de dicusión. 

Siendo marca notoria en el basketball  por supuesto que tendría una fortaleza excluyente, de largo alcance, para su protección. (Confieso que no estoy en condiciones de afirmar si King James es o no marca notoria, "asignada" a este jugador... solamente porque no sé casi nada de basketball, y menos norteamericano... )

LeBron James Shuts Down Attempted Trademark On 'King James': Carnival Cruise Lines, which also operates Santa Clarita-based Princess Cruises, filed to trademark “King James” last summer. If approved, Carnival would have used the nickname for a new cruise ship.
